Privacy & Data Ownership Questions

Will my data be sold?
Never. That's a hard line for us. We're a public benefit company, which means our structure and values are baked how we operate. Your data stays yours. We don't sell it, trade it, or let it leak through partnerships. Period.
Where is the data stored?
Most of your data stays directly on your phone and the devices themselves. If you choose to back it up, it'll go to your personal cloud — like iCloud or Google Drive — but never to our servers. We don't need it, so we don't touch it.
Can I delete my data?
Absolutely. You'll be able to delete your customer account, your wellness data, your biometric logs — everything. Unless we're required to retain something briefly for legal compliance (like a billing record), it's all erasable by you.
Can I use the device without an account?
Yes, sort of. We do ask for a lightweight account — mainly for shipping updates and app settings. But your actual health and biometric data never touches our backend. That stays local unless you decide otherwise.
Is this HIPAA compliant?
Because Cirdia isn't a regulated medical device, HIPAA doesn't technically apply. But we've modeled our protections and practices around HIPAA anyway — so that your data is treated with the care and control it deserves.
Will it connect to my doctor or EMR?
Not at launch. But we know many people want to share data with their care team, so we're building this in a way that allows for controlled sharing in the future — on your terms.
Can I export my data?
Yes — in multiple formats. Whether you want a quick summary or raw files for your own tracking or to show your provider, it'll be easy to download and own.

Purchase & Delivery Questions

When will it ship?
We're targeting early 2026 for delivery. Kickstarter backers will get regular updates as we go — you'll be part of the journey, not left wondering.
Can I return it if I don't like it?
Yes. We've already outlined a return policy that's as straightforward and fair as possible. If it's not right for you, we'll make it easy to send back.
What happens if the campaign fails?
You won't be charged. Kickstarter only processes payments if the campaign is successful. If we fall short, you'll still be on our early list and we'll let you know next steps.
Will there be international shipping?
Yes — we're starting with the US, Canada, UK, and EU. If you're outside those regions, stay tuned. We want to expand thoughtfully.
What is the warranty?
We expect to offer at least a one-year warranty, and we're working with manufacturing partners who support quality and longevity. Details will be finalized before we ship.
Can I buy just one device?
Yes. While the full benefits come from using both devices together, we know some people will want to start with one — and that's totally fine. You'll have that option. We're still sorting out if we can offer that during the Kickstarter.
Will I get a discount as an early backer?
Yes — and if you're already on our email list, you're part of the early access tier. We're rewarding early interest with early pricing.

Philosophical & Brand Questions

Why two devices?
Because you're not in one mode all day. You're moving through work, rest, stress, sleep — and the truth is, one device trying to track it all has to cut corners. Our two-device system was designed so each one could do its job well, honoring your rhythm instead of flattening it.
Why don't more companies design for women?
Honestly? Because many of them don't start from women's real experiences. They tweak what exists. We started fresh. That means understanding comfort differently, thinking about hormonal life stages, reimagining how tech can support — not overwhelm — our lives.
What does "privacy-first" really mean in practice?

What if I don't care about sleep tracking?
That's totally fine. You can use just the Day band. But here's the thing: sleep data, especially things like resting heart rate and temperature, tells us a lot about your long-term health trends — even if you never look at it. It powers smarter, less annoying nudges from the system. You benefit from it, passively.
Can I customize what it tracks?
Yes. From the beginning. You choose what shows up, how often you hear from it, and what kind of support you want. The defaults are gentle, but if you're someone who loves goals, we'll meet you there too.
Will you listen to user feedback?
We already are. From focus groups to survey responses, your feedback has shaped this product. We'll continue doing that, with ongoing community testing and direct feedback loops in the app and email.
Is this a startup? Who is behind it?
Yes — we're a small public benefit company started by a team with decades of experience across wellness tech, ethical software, and senior care. We've built before. We know the terrain. And we're doing it differently. We have a section on our About page with details.
Is this just for women?
No. We're designing for women first because that's where the gap is. But anyone who wants a more thoughtful, less extractive wellness experience is welcome here.
How does Cirdia differ from a smartwatch or fitness tracker?
Smartwatches try to do everything and often miss the mark. They, and traditional fitness trackers, are extractive with your personal body data. Cirdia is different: We are a fitness and wellness wearable, not a do-it-all smartwatch. We focus on core features that empower you with insights to manage your wellbeing. Cirdia (the company) doesn't track you; our system enables your control over your own data.

Product Functionality & Usage

How do the two devices communicate?
Our Day band and Night band communicate via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) directly to your Cirdia App on your mobile phone. The app intelligently syncs data from both Cirdia devices and combines them for streamlined insights.
Is there an app? What features does it have?
Yes! The Cirdia App is your central hub. It provides an intuitive dashboard for viewing your insights, offers customizable nudges and support, and allows you to manage device settings and data preferences.
What devices are compatible with the Cirdia app?
At launch, the Cirdia App will be compatible with iOS 18 (or newer) and Android 10 (or higher). We aim to support a wide range of popular smartphones.
How do I charge the devices? How long does the battery last?
Both the Day and Night bands come with a simple, magnetic USB-C charging cable. We're targeting a battery life of 5-7 days for each device on a single charge, designed to fit seamlessly into your routine.
Is it waterproof/water-resistant? Can I shower/swim with it?
The Cirdia Day band is designed for everyday splashes and handwashing, making it water-resistant. The Night band is fully waterproof, comfortable for sleep and gentle showering. We don't recommend extended submersion or swimming with either device to ensure longevity.
How do I clean and care for the devices?
Simply wipe your Cirdia bands with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Regular cleaning helps maintain comfort and sensor accuracy.
What materials are the devices made of? Are they hypoallergenic?
Our devices are crafted from hypoallergenic metals, glass, and resins. Our Night band will also feature a comfortable, breathable fabric designed not to irritate skin. We've chosen materials with sensitivity in mind, but if you have specific allergies, please consult our detailed product specifications (available closer to launch).
How does Cirdia handle software updates for the devices/app?
Both your Cirdia devices and the Cirdia App will receive regular software updates. App updates will be delivered through your device's app store, and device firmware updates will be managed directly through the Cirdia App, ensuring your system stays up-to-date with new features and improvements.

Pricing & Subscription

What does it cost?
During the Kickstarter we will offer special discount pricing for the Day & Night Pack. The expected retail price before discounts is $249 for both devices and the charging stand.
Is there a subscription fee to use Cirdia? If so, what does it covers?
Yes, Cirdia will offer an optional subscription for advanced insights, personalized coaching nudges, and premium features within the app. Basic device functionality and essential data tracking will always be available without a subscription. More details on subscription tiers will be shared closer to launch.
What's included in the initial purchase price?
The initial purchase price includes both the Cirdia Day band and Night band, along with their respective charging stands and cables, and access to the core Cirdia App features.

Insights, Integrations & Data

What kind of data/insights will the app provide?
The Cirdia App will translate raw biometric data into actionable insights about your body's daily rhythms, recovery, and stress responses. You'll see patterns in your sleep stages, resting heart rate, body temperature, and how these factors influence your energy levels and overall well-being. The focus is on understanding your unique body. We also provide deep customization for setting and managing your goals, with our aim to have people not experience a device that overly pressures you through gamification, or inadvertently shames you because the defaults are set to things you aren't interested in managing or getting nudged about.
Can I share my data with friends/family?
At launch, direct in-app sharing with friends/family won't be available. However, our data export features (as mentioned in "Can I export my data?") allow you to download and share your information outside the app on your terms. We are exploring controlled sharing features for future updates, always with your privacy in mind.
What research or science backs Cirdia's approach?
Our approach is rooted in decades of research in chronobiology, female physiology, and ethical data practices. While Cirdia is not a medical device, our design principles and data interpretation draw from scientific understanding of how women's bodies function across different life stages. We're committed to transparency and will share more about our scientific foundations closer to launch.
Will Cirdia integrate with other health apps or smart devices?
We will never knowingly directly integrate with platforms that will place your biometric data in centralized servers. We believe the current approach to interoperability is a fundamental flaw. Our roadmap focuses on developing and supporting new ecosystems of privacy-first apps to replace data-extractive processes, allowing you to consolidate your health data where you prefer, always with your explicit consent and control.
